College Access for all

Picture
BELL Academy is a College Access For All middle school.  We proudly participate by engaging our students in activities to promote a "College going culture".  The program is geared towards our seventh grade students, but all students participate in some of the activities.

College Access For All Activities/ events

As a College Access for All middle school, BELL Academy students and staff participate in many events throughout the year to increase awareness about college.  Some of the activities that have been done so far:
  • All seventh grade students received a "We are College Bound" T-shirt
  • All students received a college bound activity pack including- a drawstring bag, water bottle, pen, sticker, and decal
  • College Campus visits for All seventh grade students
  • College Awareness Day Activities
  • Advisory lessons
  • College Fair **** TBD

College Ambassadors

Seventh graders are eligible to become college ambassadors.  A college ambassador helps plan events and activities for all seventh grade students. Some of their events and activities included students across the school.  Some things the college ambassadors have done so far this school year:
  • College Awareness Day planning
    • Staff bulletin board
    • Create Advisory lesson plans for teachers to use in preparation for College Awareness Day
    • Door Decorations
    • College T-shirts
    • Contacting former BELL Academy students who attend college to visit and share their college journey
    • Creating gifts for college visitors
  • Create a web page to highlight the program for the school community
  • Research/ contact colleges for materials to display in school
  • Plan, develop, and implement a College Fair for families to attend
