Dear Parents/Guardians,

Fall is here and it is time to begin a fantastic year together! I am Lori Belcastro, your Parent Coordinator here at BELL Academy. I would like to welcome back our 7th and 8th grade BELL families and students, and a big WELCOME ABOARD to our new 6th grade families and students, as we embark on the 2020-2021 school year! As we begin this historic school year, we find ourselves in uncharted territory. Never before in the history of the NYC Public School System, has there been a program set in place for students to choose blended learning, or full remote learning. The most important task for me, is to provide families with up-to-date information, as it unfolds, constant communication via phone, email, virtual, or in person, to reassure all BELL Families we are committed and working together, to make the transition between blended or remote learning, as seamless as possible. Social Emotional Wellness is on the top of my list. The pandemic and adjustments to the way we tend to our daily lives and routines, has certainly raised awareness to helping both families and students cope with anxiety. Together with our School Counselor, we will work together to hold workshops for both students and families. I have devoted one Thursday a month to "What's the Story with Lori", to chat with parents/guardians about school updates, and invite guest speakers to discuss topics of interest. Please feel free to email or call me to discuss any  concerns and issues you may have. Together we will problem solve, and strategize  and find a solution!Looking forward to forming new family relationships and strengthening my current family bonds. Contact me by phone 718-428-0587 ext.1 or email lbelcastro@schools.nyc.gov  or Lbelcastro@thebellacademy.com

Warmest Regards,
Lori Belcastro
